Consulate Dental Plans, Can I get my money back from the dentist.
Question: A little over two weeks ago I went to the dentist to have a tooth checked out. I was in a lot of pain. I was charged $80.00 and all I got was a prescription of Motrin and Amoxicillin and was told to come back in another week. I paid the billing but I thinking I got charged for a prescribtion that I did not have filled due to cost. Can I get my money back?
Answer: There are two concerns that I have with what you are saying. The first is that you are unclear of what you are being charged for. Generally they tell you what it is you are paying for. It is not likely you are being charged for the dentist to prescribe you Motrin and Amoxicillin. However I think it would be good for you to have a clear understanding of your charges. Therefore call the dental office up and speak with them about your charges.
The second concern I have is that I believe the Mortrin is for pain so that really up to you if you want to take it however Amoxicillin is to fight against infection. If you are not taking that and you have an infection that could be a problem. It is not good to let and oral infection go untreated. So I would talk to your dentist about that as well. There are free prescribtion discount cards you can get to help reduce your cost here is a site for you to review for that. http://www.benefitdrugcard.com/
