Consulate Dental Plans, Affordability of Dental Insurance
Coverage and Affordability
When shopping for dental insurance you want to keep in mind the affordability of the plan along with the plan maximum coverage a year.
You will want to compare yearly maximum coverage on a regular basis before selecting any dental insurance plan. The dollar amount the plan pays for dental care cost during one full year is very important factor to consider while choosing the dental insurance plan.
Yearly maximums also renew on an automatic basis every year. These maximum limitations do not roll over, that means that amount that is not used within a year will not roll over into the next.
As an example: Suppose you had $1000 yearly maximum for 2016 but you only spent $500 of it. You will think that since you still had $500 at the end of the 2016 then for 2017 you are going to have $1000 + $500. Unfortunately that is not true. Your funds are not cumulative. For 2017 you still will have the same $1000 as a yearly maximum for full year.
