Consulate Dental Plans – Dental Plans in California
Question: I moved to California and I am 27 and do to poor dental care when I was a child, I have some bad teeth and would like some dental health care help. However with the amount of dental work needed I can not afford the work needed
The dental office advised me to look for dental PPO plan that will let me stay with them. They said to try and find a dental PPO plan that offer short waiting periods or no waiting periods. I do not fully understand what they mean, can you help me?
Reply: Most dental PPO’s plans do have waiting periods. Waiting periods are the time period you must have the plan for before the benefits are available to you. Some typical waiting periods are six months for basic care such a filling and twelve months for major dental services such as crowns. There with plans that have waiting periods you generally only have coverage for preventive care until the waiting periods are over.
On our website in CA we do provide a Delta dental option with no waiting periods you may want to review. Just enter your zip code in the quote box provide on our home page and call our office m-f 8-4 at 310-534-3444 if you have any questions
