California Consulate Dental Plans
Question: I moved to California and I am 27 and do to poor dental care when I was a child, I have some very bad teeth and would like some dental health care help. I went to a dentist that gave me a free consult. However with the amount of dental work I need, I can not afford to have started.
The dental office advised me to looke for dental PPO plan that will let me stay with them. They said to try and find a dental PPO plan that offer short waiting periods or no waiting periods. I do not fully understand what they mean.
Reply: Many PPO plans have a limitation called a waiting period. Waiting period is the time frame you need to be on the plan before benefits of certin services are covered under the plan. Such as if you need a crown which is a major dental care service many PPO plans have a year or more waiting period before they offer benefits for major dental care services.
However, we do offer two dental insurance plan that do not have waiting periods in California. You may want to review those plan options. Just enter your zip code in the quote box provided. If you have any question about any of our plan options please call our office at 310-534-3444
